You may be a lover of lighthouses or indifferent to them (I can't think of someone who dislikes them...) This is a loveky one.

This lighthouse actually has an inn associated with it that you can stay at in season...we were there in the off season. It is in a beautiful location.

This was our second time to stay at West Point lighthouse. The first time we stayed in the top room of the lighthouse and it was beautiful with its claw foot tub however what we didn’t like was the tiny window as we wanted to see more of the ocean. So for this trip we booked a regular ground floor room off the lighthouse and it was AMAZING!!! The bed was SO comfortable with its soft sheets and duvet cover and the room had a quaint little table and 2 chairs by the window perfect for a romantic dinner. Outside was the incredible beach which we combed for hours. At night we left the window open to hear the waves. The bathroom was also super spacious with a very long counter space. The only thing we would have liked was for there to have been some dinner options at the lighthouse.

We Just finished a 3 night stay and loved it!
Absolutely delightful, even in the rain.
Warm and accommodating staff and I've just had the best sleeps I've had in weeks.
This is a unique place to stay and to climb up into the lighthouse itself has been a thrill.
Special thanks to Kim and Tricia and Kendra (Cassandra 🤣🤣) for making our stay both pleasant and memorable.

We spent 3 days there after 26 years since our last stay. Kim and her staff welcomed us like we were old family friends. The room were spacious, clean and very welcoming. We greatly appreciated having a balcony overlooking the sea shore so we could have our coffee and have wine in the evening while enjoying the sunset. Having a small fridge in the room was very appreciated. Although hurricane Dorian did a lot of damage to the shoreline, we could still take long walks on the beach. The morning breakfasts were very good with fresh muffins, fruits and other niceties. We just enjoyed or stay at the lighthouse .

We found this gem on the internet several months ago and decided we would like to stay “in” a lighthouse. There was a little bit of damage to the grounds from hurricane Dorian, but this did not detract from the spectacular time we had there! The staff was so friendly and most helpful. Our room was so cozy and we were on the 2nd floor in the last room so our view was spectacular from our balcony. We got sandwiches and beer and sat on the balcony watching the sunset which was beyond beautiful!! I can’t recommend this place enough!! It’s only open May-September so don’t delay in getting a reservation here!! It’s really worth your while!!

This is a beautiful place, from the rooms to the staff. Definitely is a must when visiting PEI. Just amazing the view is incredible on the beach and the lighthouse. We had a great time and will definitely plan to go back.

This is a great spot to walk along the beach and explore a lighthouse. You get to go right up to the top and view the surrounding area. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Continental breakfast was tasty with a good selection of food. Room was clean and well kept.

Quite a drive away from Charlottetown but worth a quick stop..lots of sand dunes and long beach for walking

This park has everything! Ocean & beach, campgrounds, lots of parking, a hotel, a museum, beach combing, swimming!!! We had a great time, will definitely be back and will stay at the lighthouse next time. Oh yeah, it has a lighthouse too! LOL

Is there still a beach to walk on after the hurricane? Is there a beach at the and of MacDonald Rd in West Point?

We were there in September 2019 the week after Dorion passed. The beach can still be walked but there was a lot of damage to the dunes. There was talk about possibly moving the lighthouse back from the beach.

Hi-
We Will be taking a cruise in 21 days, and this is one of our reports we will be stopping at. The excursions for tours through the cruise line are so darn expensive that I was hoping I could get some advice from the locals.
Primarily, for two seniors who cannot do a whole lot of walking what are the best things to see on this island? I am very partial to light houses, but I don't want to rent a car or anything.
Can anyone give some advice?

Take a tour. Don't drive. You'll waste your time driving. It's about 2 hours drive from West Point Lighthouse to Charlottetown, one way. If you take a tour, they will show you popular highlights plus you won't have to drive.
