loved this beach ...after viewing alot of the beaches on the north side they all start melding together but each one has something unique. We liked the lighthouse here and checked out for future accommodations. the problem with PEI is fog rolls in out of nowhere and obscures the views and you cant do anything about it ....it rolls out just as fast make sure you go when you can see something

Cedar Dunes Provincial park has camping, a great beach with a picturesque lighthouse on site. The lovely beach with soft red sand has great views and isnt crowed and you can walk the beach for miles. Lots of free parking available. West point lighthouse a working lighthouse on site which you can tour. Great place to watch the sunset and relax and enjoy life.

The cedar dunes were closed off due to damage to the boardwalk, so I was not able to see them all that much, as I didn’t want to walk out on this delicate ecosystem. Hopefully soon they will be repaired and others can enjoy the area.

After heading up in the lighthouse you can't help but see the boardwalk and beach down below at the Cedar Dunes. Walked the boardwalk, noticed signs for tons of Poison Ivy, but not at any point do you have to "interact" with it. Beach is nice and has a lifeguard. Glad we stopped here to take it all in. Great beach.

The kids loved the beach, exploring for shells and sea glass. Lots of parking and very picturesque. I'd recommend everyone to visit.

My reviews are similar to the others. One bit of traveller advice: The GPS directions will likely take you off of route 14 and head down to the park via Cedar Dunes Park Road. Avoid this road. It is an extremely poor rood with ruts and bumps and potholes. We could only drive 10-15 mph to get to the campground. In the alternative take Wharf Road off of 14. It is about a quarter mile to the east of the other road. It is smooth. We stayed in a fully serviced spot in a 35 foot Class A. They could probably accommodate up to 40 feet.

We stayed at the campground for 3 nights and we would absolutely stay there again! There is simply nothing that compares to falling asleep to the sound of the waves as they roll onto the beach. The sunsets are amazing! We were sceptical at first as we do prefer private wooded campsites to the open side-by-side camping but it was well worth it! We met SO many wonderful people and as I said, you just can't beat camping right on the ocean. We brought our dogs with us and they were allowed on one of the beaches which was really nice! I highly recommend driving into Cavendish and picking up some fresh seafood to cook outdoors while you enjoy the view...we did!

The view on the beach is nice, with sand dunes and the lighthouse. There are also lifeguards present during the day, which is a bonus.
However, the beach itself is fairly thickly covered with rocks, shells, and other sea debris. Of all the beaches we visited in P.E.I. this was the one you had to be most careful about walking on. Wading into the water had the same problem as you have to walk in fairly far before you are no longer walking on loose stones. I would definitely advise water shoes for this beach. There are also a lot of signs warning about Poison Ivy.
There are technically changing facilities at Cedar Dunes, but they are located in the camping area, which is a bit of walk from the beach. If you are not staying at the camp ground, it is not immediately obvious where to go to change or use the restroom.
If you are in the area, this beach could be a nice stop, but it is certainly not worth driving out specifically to visit the park.
