Overview
More
We planted our first vines in 1973 and established our vineyards in 1976. We exclusively produce sparkling wine using both the traditional method (bottle fermented) and cuve close (tank fermented) methods. L. Mawby wines are traditional method sparkling wines produced entirely from Leelanau Peninsula wine grapes. M.Lawrence wines are cuve close sparklers produced from Michigan and other wine grapes. Our tasting room is open to the public and our hours very depending on the season. May - Oct: Monday - Saturday, 12-6pm and Sunday, 12-5pm. Nov. - Apr: Wednesday - Sunday, 12-5pm.

We don't typically enjoy bubbly wines, but L Mawby has some very good ones. They offer a tasting flight, which was great after a long day of wine tasting. The whitefish pate that we had complimented the wines very well.

Went to Mawbi on Wednesday the 13th of June 2017 with my wife. They directed you to the back for a free tasting of their newest offering and described all their selections in general terminology .... that was fine to that point. Then as you...More

Like many Michigan wineries, this has lovely grounds in which to enjoy your beverage. The sparkling wines are quite good, and the staff knowledgeable in explaining the process. There are also some lovely sparkling ciders (I'm very excited about the number of places now producing...More

We stepped into the tasting room and it smelled like someone had just gotten sick. In fact, a bus load of folks just left and they definitely had their share of drink(s). Anyway, it was such a nice day and they had some tables on...More

We love the atmosphere here. Very casual and not stuffy at all. The make many different varieties of sparking wine, several in the traditional champagne method. Highly recommend a visit!

Larry Mawby started making sparkling wines before anyone else in NW Lower Michigan thought of it. Many international awards later, he is still doing it. Each bottle is infused with his knowledge of grapes, soil and micro-climates, and the tasting room is infused with his...More

We walked in this place as people were walking out gagging. The place smelled SO bad! Plus, the wine wasn't very good and the service was mediocre. Of 9 wineries we visited, this was my least favorite. I'd skip it next time for sure.

We enjoyed two tastings with some good sparkling wines. Bought a bottle of "Sex" just to have in the cellar - Why Not! Very worth the stop on your wine touring of the area. Don't miss it
