We debated doing this hike to the bridge because of all the mixed reviews we read beforehand. I ended up make lift reservations the night before to guarantee our passage to and from the hike. The hike itself was easier than expected. My husband and are in our late 30s and knocked it out in 1 hour each way. My... More

The funicular ride must be reserved. The hike to get to the bridge awesome !!! Pure mountain air. Wonderful views all the way up. Not to difficult if you are in good shape .I saw children going in the trail without difficulty. But I would not called easy . Crossing the bridge can be intimidating for some people but rest... After a 400m climb (from funicular stop) it was a reward to have your lunch at this beautiful spot overlooking the gletcher lake. Keep in mind that the trift funicar has limited capacity (4 every 12 min). We arrived at 10:00am but got a ticket for 11:00 and return at 17:45. At 10:30 they stopped selling tickets, because returns were... More

Small cable car leaving every 12mins and taking 8 people up the mountain to the start point for the walk to the bridge. Book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment on the day. Walk is 1hr15-1hr30 to the bridge, quite a tough walk, hiking boots required. Cool in the morning when valley is in shade- gets very hot later!... More

Trift bridge is really a must see place. The trail/hike to get there is very nice with some difficult spots. The surrounding is great. Realize the glacier is only half (!!) of what you see on most pictures. The rest has been gone in only 5 years. So, if you want to see the glacier and walk the bridge make... More

If you're looking for a relaxing Alpine walk, to take in some fresh clean air while you meander hand in hand with John from accounts (whose wife thinks he's in Chicago closing an important deal) through the gently rolling hills, then probably don't attempt this "walk". This is not the walk you're looking for, Judy. Arriving in the village of... More

The longest pedestrian-only suspension bridge in the Swiss Alps at 170m long and height of 100m. It was originally built in 2004 as the glacier has melted away & no longer could hikers cross over to the mountain hut. It's been replaced in 2009. You can take a gondola up, just book your cable car in advance as each gondola... More

There is a cable car which leaves from Triftbahn near Gadmen which takes you up into the mountains from which you can hike the Trift Bridge trail. It is a no-frills cable car with no seats and only able to take 8 passengers at a time. Tickets need to be purchased online beforehand to ensure your place on the cable... More

This was an amazing experience. Take cable car to the top and then 1-2 hour hike, depending on your speed. I would say it was somewhat moderate in some places but not very doable for most. The bridge was awesome. Unfortunately it was so foggy that I couldn't see the water underneath which made it less intense, perhaps a reason... More
