This is a very nice loop that is not a far hop from Duluth. The trail is well marked which makes is good for both winter as well as night hikes. There are several SHT campsites that I think as some of the best on the entire trail! (You didn't here that from me). Just note that the bridge will... More

We forgot how much we loved it. The trail itself is over worn. There is maintenance needed to narrow eroded and muddy areas. River falls and rapids gorgeous.

Long story short, the trail is very scenic but there were so many hoards of biting flies, that all I wanted to do was get in my car and leave.

Went to the falls. Trail is accessible right from the lodge if you want to do the entire loop. I drove to the last point so I could walk .7 miles instead of 10.0. Trails are somewhat difficult.

the natural beauty of the waterfalls are captivating. Lots of people here though, very touristy. if you like being alone in nature probably not for you, but if you don't mind crowds this place is great.

Love this loop trail for a quick hike along the Split Rock river. The vista view of Lake Superior is much anticipated and on the last portion of the hike on the north side of the trail. DYK that there is actually a "split rock"? yes there is! On the south side of the river as you leave the parking... More

I live only 1.5 miles from Split Rock and take my dog on this trail on a regular basis. It is a beautiful trail with great views of the rivers and coves.

This a moderate 5-mile hike. Lots of waterfalls and gorgeous views. It took us nearly three hours to complete the loop with a couple of short breaks to absorb the sheer beauty of the trail.
