Went hiking with a meetup from 11135 Lyndale Ave. S. to Old Cedar Ave. bridge on these trails. It seemed to be a popular place but not too crowded. Trails at this time of year are muddy in some places but trees that have fallen have been cut so you can get through. There are lots of hills and plenty... More

Nice trails into the Minnesota River floodplain, wetlands. The Bass Pond trails are full of wildlife. Had an up close experience with a beaver. Great bird watching.

I took some people from a group home for people with disabilities to visit this free national site. They were interested and had a lot of fun. It includes animals, short films, things to do like crafts and a history of North Minneapolis construction of Interstate Highway 94.

We stopped by the Minnesota Valley Wildlife Refuge to buy Senior Lifetime Passes to Federal Parks ($10) because we heard the Trump Administration had plans to raise the price to $80. Immediately we were impressed with the building, featuring large open spaces, walls of glass with views into the woodland, and vignettes of native plants and animals. Even in the... More

We enjoy hiking as a family. It is peaceful and enjoyable to walk here. It is not overly busy which is nice.

Let me start by saying if I just had a chair close to the window of the bird feeders, I would probably back my lunch and stay there all day! This is probably my 4th or 5th time here. We travel from GB mostly to go to MOA but this place is always a stop I try and make. I... More

We attended a talk on the monarch butterfly and photographing butterflies and really enjoyed it. The presenter was well informed and interesting. The variety of plant life was very nice and gave us lots of things to photograph. We walked down one short trail and ended up at a pond full of frogs which was very interesting. Would love to... Had a great 14 mile trail ride. It's pretty flat and not super technical but not boring either where we road. No bathrooms in site though :)

We've been here just once before...in the fall. We visited on a day when the information center was closed and never got an opportunity to check it out. Luckily on this stop...it was open. It is fairly large with several rooms featuring different wildlife facts...activity stations and small exhibits. There is a staffed service desk where you can talk to... More
