The ultimate micro brewery for cycle fans
May 2021 • Friends
This place is amazing. The true explanation of a ‘hidden gem’ . Sitting in the corner of a small industrial estate in black Heath.
There are ham/cheese cons, plus snacks available. Chippy over the road too.
The key thing is the beer. Amazing choices and takeaway options available too.
Walk ups available and only open on the weekends.
The vibe is strong, the beers are staggering

Brewery Tour
Mar. 2020 • Friends
Went with a friend last weekend and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Faye, the tour guide was excellent (an ex-employee apparently) and made the whole experience fun. The free flowing beer was wonderful and we tried many different and varied cask and keg varieties. Very good value for money, especially as there was bread and cheese on offer, also free flowing! Would definitely recommend.

Pricing policy seems to be inspired by some misdirected geographical notion that Long Lane is in fact located in the South London version of Blackheath, rather than an industrial unit in a soulless part of the West Midlands. Frankly, there is no justification for beer (often average at best) costing over £4 a pint, especially when it’s delivered from a brewery located only 5 meters from where you sit.

I say sit – if you are lucky enough to get a perch on furniture better suited to a kids playground (and prone to frequent collapse). Certainly the owners are not spending the profits on heating; it might appeal to aficionados of rough drinking to frequent a crowded corrugated industrial shed in summer, but in winter, take your long-johns and a hat. Frankly, there are better proper brewpubs all over the area (the Old Swan Netherton ‘Ma Pardoes’ is half the price for better beer, comfortable seating, clean toilets, and something called décor) where you won’t need a brass monkey with a welding kit.

Give this place a miss.

A real must for real ale lovers
Aug. 2019
My son and I had a Groupon deal to do the tour which was very interesting. We couldn't believe the amount of real ale on offer for free for an hour and a half in whatever measure you want from 1/3 to a full pint. They had some really tasty ales, we were still there some four hours later.
It is in a couple of factory units but there's something special about that. There is plenty of seating the staff are great and you are offered a variety of cheeses (help yourself) with sliced baguette. Will dfeinitely go back.

WOW

Came here for a brewery tour with my Brother in Law and we were blown away by everything, from the welcome to the cheery goodbye some 6 hours later. Scott and his team do a fantastic job here producing great beers which I detect is a labour of love. The tour is short but fun and then you are let loose sampling their hard work and it is free flowing for 90 minutes so you can make a big dent in the list on the wall before you have to pay. A fantastic choice of cheeses are served with crusty bread to help soak up some of the alcohol and there are cobs ect to purchase if you still need some sustenance. I just cannot praise this place enough and I'm sure that if you do the great value tour or just drop in for a drink you won't be disappointed.

Night out
Apr. 2019 • Friends
The Fixed Wheel Brewery beers are fantastic, any ale drinker will love the variety and choice of beer available. The brewery itself has a great vibe and the cycling themed decor is interesting.
Staff are very knowledgeable about what they're serving and friendly.
Not everyone taste to sit in an industrial estate supping ale, but it's got a very welcoming, friendly vibe with relaxing background music as you sit and chat with mates over a great selection of beer.

Want some fabulous beer?
Apr. 2019 • Friends
Where do I start? Some of the best beer I have ever been served has been at the Fixed Wheel. Don't know how Scott and the gang do it and I don't care. Twice now I have been quoted as saying, "those are best four pints I have even drunk in one session". Look out for the Blackheath Stout especially, it is nectar! Too many other favourites to mention. I don't need much of an excuse to travel across Birmingham to indulge myself.

great saturday afternoon drink
May 2019 • Couples
we rode 25 miles along the canal to here from the other side of Birmingham as a different destination, meeting our partners here so we can be driven home safely LOL
When we got here we were surprised to be on an industrial estate. Once we opened the door all our worries went away (don't judge books) as the bar inside is quite cool and has a very pleasant atmosphere
The great selection of beers were fantastic and the cheese samples and crackers went down a treat
We will definitely be returning here one day
