Hiking along river

Sunrise hike along river was wonderful. Campground looked good. Picnic structures looked really nice.

My husband and I spent a 3day weekend here this past spring and couldn't believe the beautiful trails that parallel the creek and meander over bridges, up bluffs and through fields of wildflowers. We have a 42ft RV so it was a challenge finding the right spot but after most left on Sun night we were able to move the... More

My wife and I camped at a drive-in tent site recently and couldn't be happier. The state park is nestled in the Beaver Creek Valley and surrounded by green hills. The camp sites were pretty full but still was very quiet and secluded feeling. Trails are everywhere for hiking and the foliage was full. It was great to be outside... More

I spent the day hiking at Beaver Creek recently. The vistas were nice from the top of the bluffs and there were numerous berry patches to pick from, but many of the trails were washed out and were not groomed well. It made for an itchy hike. The natural spring along the creek was my favorite part. It was ice... More

Disclaimer: I did not stay overnight in the campground, visiting only in the daytime and evening; however, family members did stay at an RV site and a group camping site. Positives: the campground is set in a beautiful heavily wooded valley, with a creek running through the park and numerous hiking trails. RV sites are set close together, but trees... More

We were travelling to Iowa and reserved a site at this park. It was very quiet. The camp was about half full, but all the campers were respectful and quiet. The only downside was that there is no map for campers as they enter the park to know where they are, or are going. If you don't read the posted... More

We really enjoy coming to this State Park, it has some amazing hikes and really picturesque terrain. We recently Visited this past weekend and they had a Candle Lit Hike/Snowshoe/Ski event. We've been to a few of these events in the region this year and this was one of the best. The thing this event had going for it that... More

We were intrigued by the name of this state park, but disappointed by the landscape. The drive there from the Twin Cities through Houston County was absolutely breathtaking, the most beautiful drive in Minnesota for us. Gorgeous farmland and classic farms, through picturesque valleys that you'd see in Vermont or a quaint New England setting. However, when we arrived at... More

My husband and I camped here for 3 nights, during the week and it was very quiet and peaceful. We have a trailer and used an electric site. We hiked almost all of the trails; our favorite was th e easy hike along Beaver Creek which is a trout stream. We DID see some brown trout but right now (October)... More

It's a amazing place to hike and fish. Just have to stealthy to be able to spot and reel the trout in. Definitely a place to come back to.
