The only aquarium in the U.S. that focuses on freshwater exhibits, this three-story waterfront structure is ready for public viewing after a year and a half and almost $34 million. Plenty of interactive exhibits and re-created habitats are fun and educational for children.

Worth a look, but not really special.

Not as good as, say, the one in Monterey or Chattanooga, but still interesting and the kids seem to like it.

Beautiful museum with well displayed and stocked exhibits of the fish and animals of the Lake Superior area. The aquarium has information about the wildlife of the areas lakes and rivers which is very interesting an a bit more informative than other aquariums we have visited. There is interactive exhibits also available for children to learn about the Great lakes... More

We attended a wedding at this location. The only downside was that it needed to start after closing, which made it a late evening. However, this was a wonderful setting for a slightly unique wedding.

We had a wonderful time. We took our four grandkids ages 10 9 8 6 They all loved it. Lots of hands on stuff. Back when this first opened we did not like it at all it was too over priced and badly run. This time we had coupons from our hotel which helped the cost a lot (it still... More

I might be spoiled from other aquariums but I thought this was small. Still it was interesting to learn about what lives in the lakes. We also got to see them feed the otters.

An excellent collection of many species of fresh and salt water fish etc. Also some wildlife and bird examples. Closely located between the S.S. Irvin ship Museum, USACO Museum, the Vista Fleet harbor cruises and the North Shore Railroad museum. All within easy walking distance of each other.

I've been here several times before. The last time we were here, my one daughter was very little. We forgot how much the admission was. It was $54 to get in for my wife, children and myself. As it turns out, it was only another $26 for the yearly membership. And you get free parking for a year with that... More

We decided to go here to get out of the rain. For the price I do not feel it is worth it. I believe 16 per person. Kinda steep for what you get. But it was nice to see some of the different kinds of fresh water animals. The thing that got me the most was we went to see... More

Compared to many other aquariums I've been to this one is very mediocre. I believe it was $56 for two adults and two children, plus $5 to park, felt a bit steep after viewing their exibit. A lot of indigenous species and not much exotic, I think they had one small shark. My children still seemed to enjoy it so... More
