I love trains and so I really appreciate this museum. Take some time and read the text at each exhibit and you come to understand how important the railroads were in developing the nation. We have visited the LSRM twice and I look forward to a third visit.

I had been here a few times as a kid for school outings, but returned with my husband, looking for something fun to do while visiting town in the cold Duluth winter. This was even better than I remembered. And, my husband thought it was awesome; he wants to return. I went from 40-something to 10 years old again climbing... More

the trains are so huge and all are different. Loved the close up experiences with all of the different types. The hands-on experiences plus the real life station makes it fun for all.

Between Christmas and New Year's Eve of 2016, our grandchildren were out of school. We took two pairs of cousins to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, located in the bottom floor of the Duluth Depot, which houses several other organizations and exhibits. Along the north and east walls of the ground floor are reconstructed buildings of old Duluth: a drug... More

My kids ages 2, 4, and 6 loved this museum. We were here for over two hours and all of them were engaged the whole time. They loved boarding the trains and sitting in the engineers seat. The loved taking a break to play with the wooden train sets and enjoyed the model train displays too. It was a great... More

Fun! We boarded the train at fitgers and rode the short rude to the railroad museum. Along the way we were treated to a narrative tour of the beautiful city of duluth all the while setting the stage for the program ahead. When arriving at the Depot we were able to see the large collection of model trains that chug... More

My fiancé and I loved this Museum! Lots of really cool trains and exhibits to look at. There was a gentleman who was in the Lincoln memorial train and he was fantastic!

To avoid parking and experience a train ride we took the train to Bentleyville lights. The kids loved it. Train staff, who were most likely volunteers were polite, patient and professional. Ordering tickets online ahead is highly recommended as they fill up fast. Lots of quaint shops in the building where the station is lcoated. Very fun!

We love to ride trains when we're on excursions but viewing this museum was a walking experience. The place is loaded with railroad cars and equipment. It was fun to be able to walk through some of the cars and see the original china used; or to walk through the Lincoln hearse car. It is an overwhelming museum.
