The entire north shore is stunning. I go up there multiple times a year because I can't get enough. My favorite place is Grand Marais, but if you can't make it up that far, don't fret because even the very first place - Duluth -...More

We headed out from Duluth and went along the shore. It is so beautiful on a gorgeous, sunny day! We loved Two Harbors and enjoyed poking around the town. Went to Betty's for the famous pies and on our way back to Duluth, we found...More

We first visited in May but it was snowing and blustery, but this visit it was warm and sunny. The North Shore is some of the best scenery I've ever seen. This drive offers plenty of pull-offs to stop and explore or take pictures. Highly...More

The North Shore drive is incredible! Don't miss this trip. The views along Lake Superior are breathtaking. Don't miss Gooseberry Falls - one of our more memorable stops. The waterfalls are amazing and the Visitor Center there is wonderful as well. Lots of scenic pull-offs...More

I've been going up the North Shore since I was a child and NEVER grow tired of the magnificent things to experience...beginning with arguably the most beautiful fresh water lake on this (or any other) planet...Lake Superior. DO NOT MISS THIS! The several rivers flowing...More

Lots in Duluth. You can also stay in any of the towns along the way. We stayed in Duluth but I did notice that there are hotels in Two Harbors including a bed and breakfast in a light house. I did not stay there but it seems... More

Please i would love some opinions . We are going to Duluth for 6 days over the 4 th of July however we only have one day for the scenic drive . I for sure want to go to grand Marais. So I'm thinking of going from Duluth to grand Marais early early (what time does the town open ? Businesses etc...) start there then come back towards Duluth stopping at all the spots we've chose . Wouldn't it be a good way to end up late where our room is and the other way around we're late driving back from grand Marais. ??? Please I appreciate any input !! I've read every review . We are going on a Sunday July 2 nd . So I know it's gonna be busy .

Wow, that's a really busy weekend and so I agree with getting an early start and checking in ASAP. Lake Superior creates it's own weather, so remain flexible and so you may need to delay one day. Also, no matter how hot... More

Crazy question, I am a bit whimpy driving on mountains and roads on the side of a cliff. This drive sounds so spectacular. Do I need to prepare my mind for this type of drive??
