The North American Bear Center is the only educational facility of its kind - it helps people learn from the bears themselves about bear behavior, ecology, and their relations with humans. There is a huge need for accurate information about bears worldwide and the mission of the non-profit North American Bear Center is to advance the long-term survival of bears worldwide by replacing misconceptions with scientific facts about bears

The North American Bear Center is amazing. We loved it. We got to see a female climb a tree; a male swim and play in their pond. The staff is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed it thoroughly; worth the ticket price for sure!

Great informative displays about all sorts of bears, even prehistoric ones. Plus, we got to meet Ted and Tasha just before hibernation. Informative, dedicated, and friendly staff.

Luckily I live relatively close, make trips at least yearly. Wonderful place for young and old. Great informative displays as well as opportunities to see the Ambassador bears up close during behind the scenes tour. Marvelous knowledgeable staff.

Highly recommend a stop here if you are in Ely. Seeing black bears up close is such a treat. Also the educational program of all types of bears and the ecology of the area was very informative. Loved this place!

I would also say at least 2 hours. A lot of interesting information to learn. You definitely want to make sure you watch the bears as well.
