We've seen plays at the Commonweal at least a half dozen times through the years. Last week, we saw their production of Outside Mullingar, and it was excellent. It's fun to recognize actors from previous productions that we have seen, but as soon as the...More

Went back to Lanesboro recently to see more performances at the Commonweal. We saw Charley's Aunt for a second time and it was even better than before which was hard to imagine. Outside Mullingar is absolutely a wonderful play with a small cast who gifted...More

I have attended several plays at the Commonweal theater. I have never been disappointed. The productions I've seen have all been so much fun. We've been bringing friends and our friends get hooked and have come back to see different performances I don't think you'll...More

This was our third visit to the Commonweal. They do an excellent job of providing interesting theater in a shoe string. They didn't disappoint us.

Such a great performance by all the actors. The music and dancing were so well done. The transition between the story and the songs was seamless. The staging was creative. I was very impressed.

We saw Charlies Aunt. There is not a bad seat in the house. It was entertaining and very clear that all involved gave their best. The play was humorous and often times more faces too look at than time. For such a small town their...More

What a great find. It was suggested we go to the play and we were not disappointed. The professional actors (and the apprentices) were excellent. The building was very creative, great sound and seats were comfortable. Nice opportunity for a night out. If you are...More

We always take in a play when in Lanesboro. This year we saw "Charlie's Aunt", a delightful British romp. Actors in this company are very good at engaging the audience with their facial expressions and side comments to the audience. Sometimes harder to hear dialogue...More

Our 3rd annual weekend in Lanesboro, and the Commonweal both nights is an anchor of the whole weekend. Wonderful sets, wonderful performances, and we love the old comedies they choose. Out of the 6 we've seen in 3 years, they've all been 10's with maybe...More

My 13 year old says yes! It is pretty active and fun. It might be good to give him a little background to the story ahead of time.
