The trails around the river are well maintained and beautiful. Highly recommended a nice long hike day. Take time to dip your toes in and soak up the sun. Gorgeous plants and views. Not to be missed. There's one part on the northern more eastern side that has 168 steps or so. Big fun! It's way steeper than it looks... More

Awesome trout river in a great state park. Tons of hiking near the river and lots of "cascades" and falls to enjoy. You can literally hop rocks across some parts, while other parts will be massive gorges with cliffs and steep drops. Stay safe and enjoy all the river has to offer.

Short hike takes you over a bridge and you come back down on the other side. On the east side, about halfway down you may see Lady Slippers, the Minnesota State Flower. With "sharp eyes" you may see some lake trout. Children need to be kept close by. A fall into the river would be very bad!!! Cascade State Park... More

Great place to visit. The grounds are gorgeous, beautifully maintained by the park service and MN DNR, the view of the Lake are spectacular. Plan on spending a good part of your day exploring this beautiful Minnesota State Park!

Gorgeous any time of year but exceptionally so in the fall. Easy paths or harder hikes, depending on what you want. Kid and dog friendly.

Lots of waterfalls to see in the area. The state park ones are mostly on Hwy 61. You will see all the cars. Its worth to stop at them and have a look. Some are a step climb some have stairs. Do what you can but try to see a little bit of the waterfalls.

The water falls this year were high & fast. Granddaughter was in awe. Hike to falls farly easy. Can choose a difficult trail if you want.

Took my family here and it was well worth it, amazing views and some challenging trails. Took the trial all the way to lookout mountain and was not disappointed. I'd recommend this trail and loved every step of it.
