Took a day trip from the Twin Cities to play a round of golf for a bachelor party, and the views did not disappoint! We played on the mountain course and the river course. The back 9 were easily my favorite; and I know the course is going through some renovations. Can't wait to come back up to play the... More

My husband and I were playing golf and after nine holes, the manager with a party of three cut in front of us on the ninth hole. I wrote to complain and got a half hearted apology!

Superior National is in the middle of a wonderful renovation by renowned golf course architect Jeffrey Brauer. The first phase, the River Nine, is open for play and is a work of art. The course blends perfectly with its surroundings and maximizes views of Lake Superior. Conditions we're very good for a new course. For those who have played Superior... More

Played 2 rounds this past week at the course. Have played the course just about every year since the original 18 opened in the early 1990's. The renovated River 9 was open for play on September 28th. The rotation for the two days we played was Mountain/River. Always enjoy playing the golf course and the renovation of the River 9... More

Great golf course with spectacular views of Lake Superior on a few of the holes. Fun way to spend the afternoon on a few tricky holes.

My three friends and I golfed the course for two days. The views of the mountain and canyon are beautiful. The staff was nice. We asked when the river course would be open and were told not until the end of August but go ahead and drive the cart path to look at it. It's going to be a great... More

This course has some great views, but the 2 courses are in terrible condition. Greens look really nice, but they are rock hard and one green will be fast, the next slow. Dead grass is more prevalent in the fairway than living grass. Tee boxes aren't leveled well. Nowhere near what a course charging $70 should be like. If you're... More

This is a very fun course to play. They had a lot of rain, so there was some damage on the course, but it didn't affect our enjoyment of the day. The views are gorgeous. The water was crashing through the gorges. Don't forget your camera. Be ready to see some wildlife. The staff is very friendly. We played this... More

This is one of the funnest and most spectacular courses around. I am not a huge or professional golfer but just love Lutsen - the holes are not too difficult (but still difficult enough!) and every single one makes you stop to look out over Lake Superior. We also hope for a bear or deer sighting - and are rarely... More

Superior National Golf Course was a real pleasure and a bit of a pain (but a good pain, just very challenging tees, fairways and greens). I really enjoyed the challenge as a first timer on the course and find the blind shots, dog legs and hazards to represent real golf. Apparently some people just want to play flat, straight courses.... More
