The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is closed for renovation, and will reopen in June 2017. One of the crown jewels of the city’s park system, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden unites two of Minnesota’s most cherished resources—its greenspace and its cultural life. A partnership with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, the Garden is a top destination for tourists to enjoy art like the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry in an outdoor park setting.

This area is THE reason why I wanted to visit Minneapolis and the piece of art that drew my attention is the Cherry Spoon Bridge. In my personal opinion, this place is WAY better than Mall of America. It features the downtown skyline it was breath-taking.

Spoon and Cherry still in place for viewing. Walker Art Center is putting on its new face... it will be worth the wait. Until then, there are some great installations and Performance Art to view. If you are in the area before June 2017, drop by and enjoy the progress of the new architectural changes and new eating adventures. Lots... More

Near the Walker Museum and Loring Park is the Scupture Garden. It has recently been expanded and improved. It is a great stop for a nice day. Without visiting the museum you can spend time here. Kids enjoy it. Then walk over the pedestrian bridge to Loring Park. You can spend 15 minutes to several hours hours in the garden... More

Interesting place. The sculptures are unique, and the gardens are very pretty. Don't be surprised at the crowds of people on a warm day, or the wedding parties taking pictures by the big spoon!

I never grow tired of visiting the Sculpture Garden when I'm in Minneapolis; nice stroll and good exercise as it's really spread out. Do not go on an overcast day when rain is expected and wear some good walking shoes. I had the misfortune of getting caught in a light rain with sandals and with all the grass around--you already... Great place for a photoshoot, a nice stroll, walk with kids, a sculpture view... for pretty much everything! It has lovely art installations, gardens, a bridge and a conservatory. I've been there several times and am anxiously waiting for the renovations to be done so that I can go back!

It was a snowy day in March when I first visited Minneapolis sculpture park. Against the spectacular backdrop of the city buildings the glistening frosty ground enhanced the beauty of the wonderful bronzes, which feature not only the work of some of my favourite sculptors, but was for me an interesting introduction to several new artists. The whole surrounds the... More

I believe it was for my son's orientation at UMN and a parent's outing was offered where we rode around town in a trolley to see the sites of the Minneapolis. It was very enjoyable, especially the sculpture park.

This beautiful garden offers a spectacular view of Minneapolis and it's many places that treasure our outdoors… The indoor garden takes you into the warmth of horticulture during the cold winter's…

Big spoon with cherry was removed for construction, so were the other sculptures. Better come next year after it's all done
