Perfect to get around downtown and not go outside

I felt very safe wherever I walked. Easy access to the Target Center from the Marriott City Center. I attended the NCHC Tournament.

Being able to get around city without going outside was wonderful. Took some work to understand how to get around..maps could be better and retail shopping was limited. However coffee shops and restaurants were plentiful.

Turns a 10 minute outdoor stroll into a 45 minute power walk to get to the same destination. Poorly marked, can't find your way anywhere. Sections close in the evenings when stores close making it even harder to find your way. We used the streets - much more pleasant and efficient.

The weather was was cool and windy. The Skyway allowed us to eat, get some groceries and check out some sites. Th maps are very helpful.

On our weekend escape to celebrate a birthday, we branched out around town using the skyway from the Hilton. Fantastic for winter days! Walk to breakfast at Dave's Downtown, pick up coffee at Caribou, even a bouquet of flowers without putting on your coat! Saturday we ventured to the "Going Out of Business" Sale at Macy's; it was fun! But... More

I walk the skyway (not skywalk) every day during the week. I will be the first to admit it can be confusing, but if you're okay with the occasional wrong turn, or good with maps that I think do more harm than good, you should take advantage of the convenience of staying dry, relatively warm (or cool) and possibly finding... This is a must if you do not want to freeze to death outside in the elements. If you have a block or two, you will survive, but more than that use the skyway. Only thing that sucks is parts of the bridges close at 7 or 9pm. so you may not have the same route back on a night... More

Minneapolis is known throughout the world for its downtown skyway system - for good reason: it is excellent and efficient, and it takes the bite out of the serious cold. Or rain. Or wind. Or heat. Make sure your parking ramp or hotel is connected to the skyway system. I walked blocks and blocks every day - inside - and... More

I always enjoyed the skyways when I worked downtown. Visitors were amazed by them and the wide variety of stores and restraunts available without setting a foot outside.

The skyway system used to be so much more engaging when there were actual malls and shops downtown. Unless you go during the week at lunch time, you will be hard pressed to really find anything to enjoy other than warmth. You may even find yourself at dead ends. Sad, but true. BUT during weekday hours...there are a lot of... More
