In Minneapolis, we treasure our vadt park and lake system. Partake in all kinds of water sports or lounge in the grass, listening to a free concert every day of summer. Picnic or nibble on freshly prepared creative delights or munch the best buttered popcorn...More

We drove around part of the lake and found people biking, picnicking, swimming, paddle boarding, or just chilling. It’s such a great place to relax! You can easily find free parking on the sides as you drive around the lake instead of paying for a...More

We both walked and rented bikes to go around this lake. Beautiful views and amazing walking/biking paths. If you are wanting more than the Mall of America, you must take a jaunt around these lakes.

This is a great lake to walk, job, rollerblade or bike. Its one of the most popular in Minneapolis. There are a couple beaches with life guards. They have a snack stand. They have concerts in the evening at a lovely covered stage.

we were there in february which is clearly the wrong time of year to get any enjoyment out of the lake, but it was still scenic and made for some good photos.

I'm so fortunate to live just blocks from Lake Harriet. One of the nice things about lakes in Minneapolis is that they are surrounded by public trails (one for walking/running, another for biking and rollerblading). The trails are tree-lined and when you look across the...More

We visited just in time to see the Shanty Exhibit. Wonderful creations on the frozen lake were a joy to see.

Lake Harriet is my go to place for walking and kangooing. While it always seems busy, there is always a place to park somewhere along the trail and so much fun people watching. It's also great to stop at the Bandshell for some yummy treats!...More
