We registered online for this special Thanksgiving Day event. Despite the 20 degree plus cold, there was a crowd of runners, walkers, family people, ready to start their Thanksgiving morning off with a “pi” race, 5 k, (3.14 miles) and a 10 k race (double...More

There are so many lakes in Minneapolis that we love, but Lake Harriet it our favorite! It feels a bit more casual and family friendly than Lake Calhoun (newly named Bde Maka Ska). There is a bike lane and walking lane the whole way around...More

Great walking paths, bird sanctuary, rose garden, band shell with free summer concerts, small cafe, two beaches, picnic grounds and play areas for kids - what's not to like?

Great lake-- separate walking and bike trails and a parkway (all a little over 3 miles long) around the lake. Park land around whole lake. Next to the Minneapolis Rose garden. Great swimming when warm out. Great sailing lake for small boats.

Take 30 minutes to visit these lakes and ride or run a loop. If you have more time, there are plenty of developed retail areas just off the lakes to check out – or try out a quick paddle, volleyball match, or field. The Minneapolis...More

I absolutely love it here! I live very close to the lake so I meet up with friends there every week all year around! We usually goto the rose gardens (which are right off the walking path) and set up our hammocks to hang out...More

Great walk around the lake with separate paths for foot and bicycles. Lots of dogs. Smooth to push a wheelchair (2018) - just resurfaced. Lots of wildlife around and tree coverage. Variety of architecture of the homes around the lake is interesting.

I live about 2 blocks from this lake and it's great walking it's about approximately less than 3.00 miles and it's shady with a lot trees in summer time. As you know 10,000+ lakes in Minnesota.
