A must see for my out of town visitors. This lake is surrounded by beautiful homes, and has bike and walking paths all around. My husband and I have enjoyed canoeing this lake and the two lakes that connect with it.

This is a nice small lake to walk around in Minneapolis. Scenic and parts have lovely weeping willow trees.

Part of the Minneapolis Parks Grand Rounds. Great lake for a leisurely stroll or bike ride around the lake. Also great for a canoe or kayak paddle. (Not good for swimming. For swimming just go across Lake Street to Bad Maka Ska.

Walked the entire 3 mile perimeter. Beautiful blue skies contrasting w/ stark white grounds. Bunch of signs placed warning that iced lake was dangerous. Didn't,t stop the dog walkers or cross country skiers. Surrounding homes architecturally interesting. Will be back in summer. Well maintained path....More

the lake is scenic, but since we were there in february it is clearly not the best time of the year to get any enjoyment out of it.

I enjoy this lake year round. It is under three miles around, so makes for a short run or walk. It also becomes a winter wonderland with ski trails. It has a naturalized shoreline, where I have seen muskrats near. If you rent kayaks and...More

This is one of my favorite lakes around Minneapolis. It's great for walking or biking around. The mansions along its shores are beautiful. I enjoy it especially at Christmas time, with lights everywhere.

We had a wonderful time walking the 2.8 mile trail around the lake on a beautiful fall day. Nice wide trail. I’d like to run here someday. Highly recommend!

Lake of the Isles is located in beautiful south Minneapolis (an area known as Uptown) about three miles from downtown. It is one on a chain of city lakes, and is particularly enchanting due to its curving coastline with inlets and coves as well as...More

There's free parking around the whole lake. Usually no problem finding a spot and you can start anywhere around the lake.
