Im not sure if we just happened to go on a quiet day where the winemaker had time or whether he always gives such great service but upon our impromptu arrival at the winery we were greeted by the wonderful wine maker/owner, who had conveniently (for us) just pressed a load of red grapes. We were lucky enough to get... More

We called a few days ahead and were told to just come out anytime and we would be given a tour. On the phone he sounded pleasant and accommodating. When we arrived on Friday morning at 10:30 (1/2 hr after opening), we knocked on the office door, and even on the door of his house, but there was no one... More

Stopped in with the family. I enjoyed learning about how the wine is made here. I liked the red quite a bit. We hung around outside for a while enjoying a bottle. It's worth the stop.

Nice vineyard, Marty was very informative and passionate about his work. A bit out of the way but some nice wines in a nice setting.

I booked a tour at Vankleekhill vineyard for a bachelorette I was throwing and it was the perfect way to celebrate and start the day! Marty was an excellent host to our large group of girls. His passion for wine and the wine making process was evident through the entire tour. He lead us into the vineyard and explained the... More

Had a fantastic time at the Vankleek Hill Vineyard this weekend. Marty was incredibly accommodating and a wonderful host to all of us. There was a large group of us and he went out of his way to make us feel welcome and answer all of our questions. Overall, it was a great experience and would be happy to go... More

Visited the winery today and of course being mid November there weren't any grapes to see in the vineyard, however, the owner did take us out to the vineyard and taught us a bit about the grapes that grow in our cold weather. This hearty breed of grape could grow in -40 degree weather! He said that if he laid... More

I saw this winery listed as a 'place to visit' while on a tour of the eastern tip of Ontario, so while passing through Vankleek Hill we stopped to see what was what. The facility is quite new and tidy, and their products are completely organic. We tasted both the red and rose and found them to be very "young",... More

My two daughters, my Great grandson and myself decided to take a drive to visit the many attractions of this town. Our first stop was the Purple Cow Winery. We tried a sampling of their white, their rose, and their red. We of course bought one of each, as well as some cheese and crackers. The winery is off the... More

I visited a lot of vineyards in Europe and it was fun to see the Canadian way of brewing wine. It are just small differences but it makes a total different taste then the traditional European wines. Really nice to visit and try some wonderful wines!
