About
Garden Path Homemade Soap creates a wide variety of natural products on site. Our bath, body & cleaning products are available throughout the year in our boutique, in select retail locations & online. Many of the herbs and flowers used in our products are grown in the gardens of our five-acre property. Visitors have the opportunity to take numerous photographs of the lavender labyrinth, the ponds, the gardens or the monarch butterflies that we raise every summer. In addition, we offer educational information on these magnificent butterflies. Visitors can learn about their life cycle and view the metamorphosis in our "Monarch Motel" from mid-August to October. Grab a map and take a free, self-guided tour of our gardens or reserve a group tour in advance for a small fee.

Garden Path is an oasis of peace, tranquility and beauty. It is visually beautiful, full of vibrant colors and different kinds of plants, butterflies, even chickens. It is wonderful to hear nature rather than the din of traffic noise. It is enriching to smell the sweet aromas of the herbs, flowers and then the products made from this. It is enhanced by being able to touch all the different kind of plants and get pecked by a chicken too if you want.
The butterfly "nursery" is a great way to see and learn about the beautiful Monarchs. Children would learn so much as well as adults.
It is friendly, welcoming and staff love to share their knowledge of the plants.
The store is refreshing and full of wonderful aromas. They have so many delightful products it is hard to choose what to purchase. Many wonderful gift items that will be different from mass produced products so common in our world today. So skip Amazon and experience a wonderful day.
I plan to go again when I visit family in this area.
You will not be disappointed. You will leave feel refreshed and energized.

We visited this weekend. The owner and ladies that run this shop are extremely friendly and helpful. The owner started making homemade soaps for family and friends as gifts. A family member suffered from eczema and after using the soap had much healthier skin and so began an amazing little home made soap company. All the essential oils are made from the gardens on the property. Many of the products are infused with these oils. There are an abundance of products from soaps to bath bombs. Baby products and even men’s shaving products.
There is a bee hive that produces fresh honey as well as a monarch butterfly growing station showing butterflies in all stages of life. If you are in the area this is a must visit!

Thank you so much for taking time to write such a thorough and kind review. We work hard to create a memorable experience when you visit us! Although we use many pure essential oils in our products, the oils themselves are not produced here. They are purchased from reputable companies in Canada. We do; however use many of the dried herbs & flowers from our gardens as ingredients. Some are added as dry ingredients and others are infused in carrier oils and then added. We look forward to seeing you again! Tara & team

We live in Los Angeles, but have friends in Vankleek Hill. They introduced us to this company. The soaps are wonderful, and we love using them.

This shoppe and its gardens are some of the most serene places I have visited in the area. Its well worth the visit. The store is opened year round. On Saturdays, they also sell their goods at the Vankleek Hill Farmer's market. My favorite time to visit is in the summer. There are a few things to do while you are there. A shoppe, spectacular gardens and a Monarch butterflies

Let's talk Shoppe. The Garden Path Homemade Soap products are all natural. Most of the ingredients included in the products are grown or collected right on the property. The owner Tara, grows and hand pics her ingredients and makes the soap herself using a traditional cold process method. She is very knowledgeable about each of her products and is continuously striving to come up with new products based on client suggestions. In the store there are handmade soaps, facial masks and scrubs, face creams, laundry soaps, stain remover sticks, bath teas and fizzes and lovely lip glosses. She also has a few local crafters who sell her items in the store. Gentlemen, not to worry she also has something for you.
Take a moment to go around to the back of the shoppe and visit her gardens. You will see the most beautiful flowers. I wondered in awe while looking at all the different colors and plants. It's just so serene. I loved the fact that I can literally see what's going into her beauty products.

During the summer months, you will have the opportunity to see up close the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly. Because of the array of plants in the gardens, the Garden Path Homemade Soap shoppe has been designated as a Monarch Waystation by Monarch Watch. During one of my visits I have had the opportunity to release a butterfly into the wild. It was really nice to share that moment with Tara. This is such a lovely place the best way to experience it is to go and see it!

After speaking with friend and family, we decided to visit the store, it's clean and fresh looking. The young lady that help us was very friendly and knowledgeable. Their green tea facial cream cleared up my daughter facial rash from too much summer swimming. We visited the Garden and it definitely recommended for a visit and maybe even a picnic !!

Tara, the owner keeps her gardens and shop in tip top shape with a well stocked variety of selections of favourite and new products all the time. Her monarch butterfly sanctuary is a wonderful teaching tool as well as a preservative of these butterflies.

Went to check the homemade soaps - just curious really - and did not expect to find all these wonderful homemade products too! We ended buying several bars of soap, spray, oil, including shampoo bars - which we tried today, and we are converted: a lot of lather and NO chemicals (or wasteful plastic bottles!)!!

We were told that we could visit the gardens, but to stay away from the lavender field because the bees in the nearby hives were a bit aggressive at this time. So we did not venture too far from the boutique and thoroughly enjoyed the perennial flower beds what we saw. Now that we realize that there is more to see (Monarch, pond, etc.) we will have to go back to complete the tour. And since we started Christmas stocking shopping at the Garden Path yesterday, we will definitively look at buying other products when we return in the fall.
