thank you for giving computer users 60 minutes and the opportunity to have more time beyond the hour. I remember the days when you had to be quiet in the library because people are reading, studying, doing research etc. This is not the case at our library. People talk in normal and sometimes really loud voices. You can get in on their conversation whether you want to or not. I want the whispering back, especially on second floor!

Great library but a lot of homeless around it making my experiences there not as great don't like getting cussed out just walking out the library. Maybe adding some neighborhood libraries would be a nice addition to rochester.

I go to the bookshop when I'm in town. It tends to have a good selection. It's small but packed with a lot.

First of all, I can not believe I have to pay to park to use a public amenity. Parking is free if you stay less than an hour. But if you have children with you, I would like to see you park, walk to the library. Let the kids look, then you look, check out and walk all the way back to the car and be out the of the parking garage in less than an hour. It is huge but I dont really mean that in a good way. It's too big to leave kids to play and read on their own, it is also full of homeless. It would be nice if Rochester had smaller libraries throughout the community. Geared more towards family's.

This library has it all a striking building in which it is housed, great artwork, tons of books, a very friendly staff and a very active friends of the library group. If you are visiting the area it is worth a look see, to read, to view artwork or to meet some of the nicest people. You can purchase used donated book for very reasonable prices.

If there are no parking spaces in front, the City Ramp is just north of the library, has lots of parking, and is connected via skyway. Special appreciation to the reference librarians who get real joy from helping find answers to complex questions - they know of places to look that I've never heard of!! Great place to read back issues of journals/magazines (can you say "Old Consumer Reports"?). Meeting rooms can be reserved for use. Excellent traditional book-library, but also a well developed audio/visual library. Oh, another "shout out" for their inter-library-loan service - they have helped me retrieve some pretty esoteric books that have been most helpful. Website is user friendly, fast and accurate. Planning a long drive by car? Check out their audio CDs - everything from great music to self-help lectures can be found.
