This state fair is a large midwestern state fair with all of the farm animals, pickles, quilts, milk, butter sculptures, plants and produce you could want. And they have all kinds of goodies on a stick! Prices of food items are kind of high and it can be hot and crowded, but it is great fun with kids.

We go to the state fair every year often 2-3 times! The sights- the sounds -the people watching - amazing. Who sees the first mullet or camel toe? How on earth is she going to walk the fair in 4 inch heels - did she know she was coming here? Yep head to the barn that should go great with... More

We had some extra time to drive across the country to visit friends that live in St. Paul, and we made it a point to visit the Minnesota State Fair. What a treat! Parking is definitely a challenge; and you have to plan to make sure that you arrive with enough time to scout out parking in the neighborhoods and... More

Me and my family go every year since my child was little. We love the food there. It's so much fun. It is so much walking though. It they have lots of animals too. There is lots of things to do there for the whole family and friends. They also have concerts there too but the tickets are separate from... More

We have attended the MN State Fair every year for over 30 years. Each year is a delight! Great bandstand acts and lots of bands performing for free at band shells throughout the fair grounds. Exhibits and events that appeal to all interests and ages. New foods are offered each year, and anything "on a stick" is popular. The milk... More

Minnesota does an engaging, fun, and delicious State Fair! Art, conservation, green, eco, music, health, nature, farm, science, birth barns, farm to table, rides, games and the list goes on. In between eating, I try to hit them all! Start around 7am for some breakfast foods, meander your way into lunch, and close out the explorations with some dinner and... More

My son is in 4H and is out at the Fair for either livestock or a general project. I would recommend buying your tickets at Cub Foods before the fair starts for a small discount and puck up the blue ribbon book, we use all the drink coupons and a few of the food ones. There are free park and... More

The fair is fun, the food always interesting. I was tired of going till my granddaughter was old enough to enjoy going. I find it boring with adults, more fun with children. Save money and buy discount admission and midway tickets before fair at Cub or whoever else offers them.

There are a ton of food options at the MN State Fair and plenty of things to see. The kiddie midway is fun for the small ones and not overly expensive. We love to get a malt from the dairy barn, MN grown corn on the cob across from the grandstand and of course cheese curds!

This is indeed the Great MN Get Together. My wife and I are retired now so we have the luxury of being able to head to the fairgrounds in the morning. You can pretty much walk anywhere, anytime. But by 4:00pm, you can feel the crowds start to build and walking now becomes a major zigzag. There's always something new... More
