The hike up to shovel point is beautiful. When you get to the top you have an amazing view of Palisade Head.

Watch the waves and Lake Superior do their magic, timeless beauty!!! Find the tankers/lakers on the lake. Truly awe inspiring!!!

State Park is free and ample parking at Visitor's Center. Typical North Shore beautiful view and great workout with all the stairs on trail. Well maintained wooden plank trail.

A very easy hike with a great payoff - beautiful views of the lake from the cliffs. Be sure to walk the trail to the end.

Nice hike, half mile or so each way. Lots of stairs. Incredible vistas back towards Palisade Head. Saw quite a few climbers getting set up. Beautiful.

We were able to hike the trail to the point with our 4 year old granddaughter who loved it - both the hike and trying to see the "shovel". It is not a handicap accessible hike. Lots of stairs.
