Split Rock Lighthouse is a must see when visiting Duluth. The drive there is gorgeous and the park itself is amazing. There is a cost to get in but well worth the money. Would definitely recommend going.

The lighthouse is the big draw and can be seen after a short walk to the shore. You can get the photo that you always see of Split Rock LH from here. No need to pay the admission fee to the lighthouse unless you want...More

If you are in the Two Harbors area, do yourself and visit Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. It exceeded our expectations. There is a small fee to visit the lighthouse for the entire day. The people are so nice and knowledgeable. Be sure to venture...More

We camped at cart in #12 which was nicely wooded and private while also being relatively (1/4 mile) close to parking lot/toilets/showers. The bathroom facilities were the cleanest I've ever seen at a state park. The pebble beach just about 50-100 yards from our campsite...More

Great restored lighthouse. Snoop around on your own or take tour. If able take the hike down to the lake, although beware Down hill and stairs, also beach is very Rockies, but I always think worth the trip.

This lighthouse is beautiful and climbing up to get a good look at the lens and see the keeper wind the mechanism was so interesting. Take time for the tour if you can, but it was well worth the ticket admission just to see the...More

I have been coming to the North Shore for 35 years now. One of my most favorite stops was the SR Lighthouse, hike the trails and often camp out in the cart-in campground. I have been to the lighthouse a few times for the November...More

Unfortunately we were not allowed to see the views from Split Rock. They would not allow us to walk the area with our travel companion, a dog. First time we have encountered a dog unfriendly outdoor area.

The light house tour and information is all very interesting and well kept up. But there is so much more to the park than most people experience. There are miles and miles of hiking trails that go back into back pack camp sites and very...More

You would need a State Park permit to go hiking in the park. Daily permits are $5 per vehicle.
