We stopped for a visit to the lighthouse and after walked ar9ound and explored the trails. Very nice, well-kept grounds. Definitely a must see, beautiful trails and some very nice photo ops.

You do have to pay to enter the lighthouse but it is pretty interesting. It has great views of the North Shore and some nice walking paths. If you are driving up to the lighthouse from Duluth then you can stop at the Split Rock...More

We stopped here on a lighthouse trip up the northshore of Minnesota. This was the BEST one. Nice park too with information center and gift shop. I think there's a $5 vehicle permit at the gate.

You would need a State Park permit to go hiking in the park. Daily permits are $5 per vehicle.
