There is a lot here. There are stunning Abbey ruins that are interesting, but especially beautiful. There is a lovely restored chapel. Also really good rose gardens, even in October. Lastly there is the Chateau which is eclectic. The one problem with it is that...More

This was the country home of Nelie Jacquemart, an avid collector of eclectic art. Many of the pieces contained in the museum were collected by her on her many forays around the world in the 19th and 20th century. This museum is a hidden gem,...More

Visit this abbey if you like old abbey ruins, and if you know the Jacquemart André Muséum, as this was the residence of Nelly Jacquemart. The two combined made a delightful day out for us, especially in a sunny day.

This was local to where we stayed in Ermenonville and decided to have a look. The building is derelict but there is plenty of it being enjoyed by many nesting swifts. It must have been impressive when complete. The grounds are extensive but marred by...More

Pretty grounds and ruins of the abbaye, but the highlight is the chapel. Don't miss the quirky gargoyles (snail, dinosaur, etc.), and especially the restored inside frescoes from Primaticcio, the 16th-century italian painter primarily famous for his work at the Chateau of Fontainebleau.

Loved this little place. Really tranquil and well worth a visit. The little tea room on site is reasonably priced and the museum is well worth a look around. The gardens are beautiful and the kids just loved running free. It wasn't overly busy so...More

This a good visit to plan in the area. The chateau is a museum with lots of antiques and it offers a peak into the past of the house. It could do with a revamp but still worth it. There is a very nice rose...More

This restored Abbey houses a fantastic collection of works of art mostly bought by Nélie Jacquemart-André's before and during the time she lived here in the early 1900's where she set about collecting from her trips around the globe. It's well worth spending some time...More
