We walked over 4 miles of the trails going to three of the overlooks in the park. We saw bald eagles at two of the overlooks and thoroughly enjoyed the views overall. The trails are mostly easy with a few moderate spots. We drove in past the first couple of parking lots to the picnic area and walked from there... More

The King's Bluff trail takes you by restored prairie, through pine forest (with a soft bed of needs underfoot, through hardwood forest, on rocky hiking paths and then to a bluff top overlooking the Mississippi, all while travelling mostly level ground. But also take some time to check out other trails like that to the Eastern lookout, which I thought... More

The trails are lovely for hiking at all levels. Surprisingly more prairie-like than you would anticipate next to the river, but lovely none-the-less. There is nothing out there so make sure you bring a picnic otherwise be prepared for a 30 minute drive.

The Kings bluff hike is mostly flat, but such great views of the Mississippi River at the end of the trail. There are other trails through the woods and some by the campgrounds. Very unbusy park.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. It's easy to select just the right campsite with the photos and detailed info on line. All sites are wooded and spaced far enough apart for privacy and quiet. I90 runs about a mile below the far end of the campground, but the noise is minimal. Showers, flush toilets, and drinking water are... More

Seems like it should be easy to get to this park, right off the Mississippi River, but you have to go around to the back side of the bluffs and come in that way. So it's off the Highway 61-Interstate 90 exit than a mile or two west, then up the hill and back east into the park. Follow the... More

This State Park is perhaps not very well-known, but it offers great hiking options and amazing views of the Mississippi and Minnesota´s bluff country. The trails are very easy and almost too accessible, because you can drive all the way to the trailhead of many of the trails. The only improvement would be that the park could open even more... I am not a major hiker anymore but found this trail easy and very enjoyable. Was a nice cool setting, only saw 1 other car and no other people walking. Views of River are good but it was the walk in that I remember the most.

This is very good place to hike, go to picnic or just try to enjoy the view of Mississippi from above. Here you can see Mother Nature in its best, the way it was hundreds of years ago. You have to pay to enter the park (very cute self serve here), but whoever takes the money has to do better... More

We had my sons wedding ceremony out on the edge of the bluff in October. It was a spectacular site with the fall colors.
