Hello everyone. I'm from Texas and we have mosquitos...but these are HUGE and disrespectful...lol On the way walking to the beach, halfway there they are like bats...lol they swamp you so I would just say spray yourself once you get off the boat. Much better. The beach is nice & quiet. Please rent you a chair & umbrella while buying... More

The ride over was very nice. I love being out on boats, and I hadn't been out in a while. You can stand at the front of the boat and watch the water go by. We saw a lot of dolphins playing, and on the way back got a lovely show of seagulls swooping and catching food, then getting chased... More

Season for 2016 was March 19th through October 30th. We went to Ship Island October 26. The season ends at the end of this month, so there were not very many people which was perfect for us. If you plan to go during the summer months, you might want to go during the week for less crowds. Be sure to... More

this will definitely be a spot for us every summer! It is a bit pricey, but you stay all day if you want. Make sure you rent chairs and umbrellas - if you do not bring your own. We learned our lesson the hard way about the very expensive food. We will pack our food in coolers from now on.... More

This was our anniversary day. We chose one thing to do to make it memorable. The cost was not expensive as we expected. For only $29.00 per adult. An hour boat ride and a whole afternoon on the beach. Well worth the money. The island had a snack bar and restrooms. We got a free tour of Fort Massachusetts, which... More

You get to the Island by boat and it was a nice cruise out and back. The folks operating the cruise need to sail ontime and quit waiting on stragglers to drag in. It's not fair to the balance of the passengers. The Island is nice and restive. Be sure to visit Fort Massachusetts and take the tour.

Our trip to Ship Island was fantastic! We rented the chairs and umbrella and were very glad we did. It's a pretty long walk from the ferry to the beach and wouldn't want to drag that stuff all the way. We did take a small cooler with drinks and snacks. The snack bar on the island looked nice although we... More

This island was truly amazing to visit. The white sand, clear water, and fort were will worth the visit. We found many seashells, saw hundreds of blue crab, and even seen one star fish. I highly recommend visiting Ship Island.

If you want waves here in MS this is the activity for you. But expect a long walk and lots of hot sun. The trip to the island was fun but on the trip back to many of the other travelers had a bit to much beer and were raucous.
