I went this morning 3/23/16 at around 10:30am. I loved the set up and the fact that they are renovating to make better exhibits soon. However the underwater exhibit had only turtles and otters right now. Loved the price 10.25 to get in and no...More

Sarah, we are so glad you stopped in to pay us a visit! And YES, we hope to have all the exhibit improvements done as soon as possible: the historic rhino barn should be finished by end of April, Gertrude C Ford Amphitheater seating should...More

Unfortunately the zoo's location is a negative. I would like to see it in Madison or Rankin counties. The animals have such small cages/enclosures that you have to question how humane it is for them (especially the jaguars). There are several construction areas that create...More

Hello, Foodie2698! Glad you could come out and experience the early spring here at our zoo! Hopefully you were able to spot the many official historic structures on site, as our property - and many of the buildings and exhibits within its gates - is...More

The zoo is relatively large and has some interesting species like the rhinoceros and the pygmy hippo, but it needs urgent upgrades. The red panda display can certainly be improved. The store is very expensive too.More

Its a great zoo. Its really big too. Unfortunately, its like walking through a crowded ghetto. They really should decline to let some people enter. Noone should wonder if they are going to be mugged while trying to walk their children through a zoo. The...More

Ashley, I'm very concerned to hear that you felt unsafe walking through our park, especially as we are so vigilant with our 24 hour live security. We are, of course, very much aware of the situation in West Jackson, and have formed some extremely strong...More

Drive with awareness through this area of Jackson, but once you're there, a fun treat awaits in the form of furry and scaly friends. The zoo is not highly decorated, but the animals brighten the grounds and are easy to see.

Thanks for visiting with us. The tigers that we have at the Jackson Zoo are Sumatran tigers and they are the smallest subspecies of tigers. Weighing in around 380 pounds, they do appear much bigger than your average dog. If the water area you are...More

I loved this zoo. There is even little tunnels the kids, and smaller adults can go through to get a peek inside the enclosures. All and all a nice place.
