Enjoyed a $.50 ride on this historic carousel. Nick, the young man operating it, convinced us to ride and provided details about some of carved animals. It must have been beautiful in its heyday, however now seems neglected and is located in an unsafe neighborhood.

I love taking my children to the carousel it is unfortunate that this area isn't safe anymore. However when we went during midday it was no problem. I am angry that this area is not patrolled as much as it should be. This is truly a piece of History for Meridian but everyone is to scared to visit.

Even if you know absolutely nothing about Carousels, visiting the DENTZEL CAROUSEL will impress you. The craftsman ship and detail is absolutely amazing. The work that is put in to keeping the Carousel not only working, but a lively part of Meridian MS, is great.

We visited, and were the only one's there. The attraction is in a building especially built for it. This carousel is the only one of its kind in the world, and you can actually ride it!

I wished I lived in this neighborhood! If I were a kid, I would be here every day. The carousel ride is only 50 cents, a snow cone is $1 and candy 25 cents. My high tech grandkids loved this place, and we met a local who has been coming here since she was 4 years old, and now brings... More

loved this place growing up -- changed tremendously, but so has most of Meridian be careful parking and staying with your children

I used to go there all of the time but the neighborhood its in has become horribly crime ravaged. We're talking muggings, beatings where 5-6 youths assault and rob someone, rapes, stabbings and shootings and I won't even go into the folks who get back to where they parked their cars only to find it missing or broken in to.... The hours for the Carousel were 1-5 on Friday, we arrived in town after 5 and left before 1. I was sad I didn't get to see the splendor of the carousel, so we did the next best thing and enjoyed the walking tour downtown and seeing all the horses. Weather was overcast and windy, so that made a nice... More

The Carousel is a unique and beautiful ride. All of my grandchildren have ridden on it, me too! The workmanship is fantastic and it is fun for everyone. There was no A/C a few years ago when we went in the summer and it was stifling hot. Last visit was in the Fall so they may have A/C now, not... More

This is a great place to visit with the kids and older family members as well. It offers a peek at historical attractions and the chance to still ride them. The cost is not much to get to do this.
