Great right in the heart of downtown Ocean Springs. They hosted a concert there last year with Luther Dickinson who wrote a sonnet about Walter Anderson and played it in the hall with Walter Andersons mural "Seasons" truly amazing. They also offer various classes and events through out the year.

Great little museum next door to the Civic center that had Walter Anderson's wonderful murals. It is on Washington Ave. Which is so pretty with its overhanging live oaks. The train station is great with the Walter Anderson's shop and the Chamber of Commerce's visitor center. We found Ocean Springs to be charming.

Very insightful look into the talents of three brothers, primarily Walter, and to a lesser degree Peter, who founded Shearwater Pottery and James, also a painter and ceramist. They worked collectively on many of the pottery creations and separately on block prints, water colors, drawings. Samples of all are on display. Grab a docent for the inside information and don't... Great art, can follow development of Walter Anderson's art through his life. He was probably pretty bipolar and mentally ill but his art is not and if it is what he saw every day, I would want to be alone on an island to see it too. His special room is special. So is the civic center. Don't miss it.... More

The museum is a wonderful tribute to the Anderson family, who all were quite artistic in their own right. The Community Center was Painted by Walter Anderson and it is spectacular. The tour information provided to you helps understand his perspective. The museum is located Ocean Springs, which is also quite charming.

Was an awesome visit. very well lit and laid out. Starting with the video documentary about Walter Anderson and ending with a walk through viewing his pottery and paintings. Along with his brothers work also. Staff very helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone interested in local painters and pottery makers.

Living less than fifty miles from this museum, we have visited many times, and each time we come away inspired. Perhaps the ultimate visit occurred immediately after their reopening following Hurricane Katrina. On this visit, we were privy to an exhibit juxtaposing Peter Anderson's pottery with his brother Walter's art work, and the results were deeply touching. In a town... More

My wife and I spent about two hours easily in the museum. Don't miss the 20 minute movie. The amount of Walters work is impressive and displayed great. Be sure to go.

Thank John B
