1st of all, the mine is beautiful, there is no doubting that. Unfortunately, the diving seems to be a total cash grab and, frankly, unsafe. It's ridiculously crowded with huge groups going thru one after the other (just in my group, there were 17 of us and only 2 guides in the water). Dive platform made set up of your... More

The world's largest lead mine covering miles and miles under the city. I did 4 dives with the West End diving guides on a weekend. The guides were great and very knowledgeable with the history and trails in the mine. There are 67 steps then a downhill paved path leading to the floating dock where you can take a pontoon... More

Want amazing experience. Staff was super and set our group up for wonderful dive. Our Tour Guide/Dive Master explained what we were about to experience as well as the safety guidelines. Once in the water, you almost need to take a pause to take it all the mine and history has to offer. I will give everyone a 10 for... More

Save your money, this place was over rated and a scam. I understand paying for diving but they tac on extra for weights, or you can bring your own weights and carry them down into the cave and back up each night. They say that is what they have to do but I'm willing to bet they just leave them... More

Stoped in first to check it out on a Friday. Did the boat tour (super cool being in a boat underground) then came back the next day to do 3 dives. Amazing place, and can't wait to explore it more. Very good safety oriented staff.

Made Bonne Terre Mine my first Drysuit trip with DiVentures (Omaha & Springfield). A very neat destination...staff was helpful & knowledgeable and very focused on safety. Facilities were excellent with plenty of parking and places for your gear. The dive facilities below ground were spacious and allowed for easy entry/exit into the water. Diving is very regimented with guides in... More

Some friends and I took this tour while in the area. I don't know what we expected, but we were a little disappointed in the tour. We did learn some interesting history on the mine. Popular place to dive.

Your ticket for the Bonne Terre Lead Mine will provide a tour of the mine with details about its interesting history and a pontoon boat tour of the flooded lower level (lifejackets provided). At the time we were there the mine was very wet so wear some nice walking shoes with good tread that won't make it a slippery walk.... More

Bonne Terre Mine is really an awesome experience. It is unlike any other dive experiences I have heard/read about. To begin, we arrived on Saturday morning at 6:30am to complete all the necessary paperwork and get a safety briefing. After completeing all that, we went into the heated locker rooms to change into our gear (the locker rooms are really... More

There's not much more than I can add than, Suibhne_Geilt's excellent review of the dive operation, so I recommend you read that, as well. The facilities above the mine are spacious and heated, so you can warm up between dives, and this makes Bonne Terre diveable all year long. I recommend doing the Mine Tour before you dive to get...
