The hatchery is a good look into how natural resources are supported by human intervention both for the good of the natural environment and for the sportspeople.

We stopped to see Table Rock Dam and the hatchery. The hatchery has numerous troughs for various sized rainbow and brown trout. Their numbers are astounding! The museum is really good, open daily 9AM-5PM Sept-May, 9AM-6PM, June-Aug.

This is one of the best fish hatcheries I have ever visited. They provide and educational tour at specific times that includes a visit behind the scenes. The toddlers were fascinated with all the fish in the tanks but bored on the tour. You can visit without taking the tour. The best part?: It's free!

It's a fish hatchery, so don't get too excited! The indoor tanks and critters were cool to show the kids and the rearing tanks outside are full of trout. It's a fairly quick tour.

The kids loved learning about how the fish grow and what is naturally local. Best to do on a sunny day.

Fun stop to see all the fish they raise to put into Lake Tanycomo. We've seen them moving fish before and it is very interesting. Come on over and feed some fish just for the fun of it.

We had taken our small children to the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery many years ago. We decided to visit again and found the small Visitors Center and the Hatchery very interesting. The center had various aquariums showcasing trout, turtles, bass, as well as lizards, salamanders, snakes and tarantulas. Fun and educational! The property also has a Lake Taneycomo... More

This was fun to take a few minutes to learn about fish hatcheries. There were plenty of fish to see and nice descriptions of what you're seeing. Also the location right behind the big Table Rock dam made it an interesting stop.

This is all free and it's fun for the kids to see all of the trout swimming around. I would recommend the video before going outside as the video does give info about the hatchery. Fun, educational, and free...........what could be better!
