First off, we didn't realize the winery was being renovated and relocated into town. I'm very happy, however, that we made the mistake. We arrived at the location under renovation and the view is breathtaking. We took several pictures and then called the winery. We were served by Larry (owner) and Crystal. Both were a delight and we enjoyed our... More

By far the best winery at the lake, best wines best people. They truly know wine and answer all questions, went to Shawnee bluff because the owner of casa built them, but the new owner Gail has destroyed it. So glad casa is still the great place it has always been. A must every time we are in the area

We try to always make a visit to this quaint little winery on a hill when we are in this area. If for nothing than the view. The facility used to be an old insane asylum (thus the name Casa de Loco "House of the Crazy"). It's a little ways out of the way and up on a hill overlooking... More

A smile goes a long way. The woman at the counter was rude on the phone, and was worse in person. The video that the owner has on the website is just about the most misleading representation of any where we have ever stayed. And we have stayed in 45.00 a night motels in Mexico. At Least the places we... More

GPS stopped working a few minutes away so some better signing might have been helpful...but it was still fun! Interesting street names along the way, and final approach was a narrow drive up a little hill...We laughed the whole way there! Wine tasting was fun and server very friendly, and we loved the names of the wines; i.e. Labottleme Zinfandel,... More

Even though it's not too far off Highway 54, Casa de Loco gives you a beautifully remote and isolated place to enjoy conversations and drinks with friends. People on here are complaining and giving negative reviews about bad cellphone service, rude employees, and bugs in the room? Give me a break! You'r fairly deep in the woods. There are bugs... More

We stopped in on our way through the area. Always wanted to stop. The name is intriguing. The road getting there is rough to say the least. The place has huge potential. The building is interesting. Lacks maintenance and up keep. I wish there was more to showcase the history of the place. Wines are named using various mental illness... More

With a name like casa de loco and being an old asylum I really wished they took it to the next level. The drive back is a trek, but the views and the buildings are worth the drive. The owner was extremely friendly and chatty. The wine was not my favorite but I prefer white over red. We did buy... More

11 of us came for a relaxing weekend. Larry and Crystal were very accommodating to our group. They even delivered our pizza down to the river! We will definitely be back in the fall! Beautiful property and views. Thank you so much for making my family comfortable and happy! Jenny T

Thank you for your review. I will address each of your statements. There were window units in the room that you were staying in. Your room doors were left open, as well as the door to the back deck. With constant open doors and constant entering and leaving the room it was hard for the AC to keep up. It... More
