The clear waters of Stockton Lake beckon visitors to water ski, scuba dive, swim, or fish. And Stockton State Park is the perfect place to do it. It’s a perfect place for sailing – with perpetual southwest breeze and a nationally recognized sailing school housed at the marina. Two boat launches make it easy to get in the water, as does a swimming beach. Want to stay on land? The park is great for photographing wildlife, picnicking with the family, or just reveling in the beauty of southern Missouri. The park also offers a range of lodging from campsites to cabins.

Thank goodness a lake like Stockton still exists in Missouri. 25000 acres, 100 feet deep and when you are in the middle you can't see a single house. Beautiful sail boats, and we can ski down the main channel in the middle of the day...More

We love Stockton Lake! It's cleaner then Lake of the Ozarks! In this one cove there are bluffs to jump off of, if you like that kind of stuff. Lol

If the weather is nice and you want an outdoorsy get-away, this is a good spot. The camping is basic with electric in the off season. The prices are less, and it is on the honor system with an envelope/pay station at the entrance. Understandably,...More

The shoreline, even at DESIGNATED BEACHES, is rocky. Wearing shoes is a must. Not what I expected from a beach. I want my feet to NOT hurt when I'm on vacation.

I agree, on of the best kept secrets for a wonderful lake in Missouri. Planning on making this a annual trip for some excellent fishing.

Stockton Lake has several access points that provide good birding opportunities. The deep water attracts Common Loons in autumn and early spring. The many Corps of Engineers properties and Stockton State Park have road systems and campground areas that provide birding access to the lake...More

Sorry, we rented cabins down by the dam. We did check out the campground and there was a walk-in area that looked real nice. You can bring your boat right up to the site, like you mentioned, and a few sites even had ample... More
