The Arabia Museum tour was fantastic. I would suggest this as a place to visit. Even one of the people who discovered the ship was there helping answering the questions. Very good display and hard to imagine they were able to save so much.

Follow the long, arduous and fascinating path these families embarked upon to find this ship and its sunken treasure. Exhibits with thousands of discovered artifacts paint a picture of what daily life was like in the West before the Civil War. These include dishes, glassware,...More

Very interesting. You start with a brief tour, tour guide was funny and informative. Lost of neat things to see. Worth about 2 hours, really enjoyed.

Well presented with narration by guides it is an interesting place to visit. The sunken boat cargo are testament to the 19th century era of American lives in Missourri. Great activity for kids to learn about that era of history too.

Had some time to kill in KC and read about the Arabia exhibit in a travel magazine. So glad that we checked it out - the story of the ill fated ship is captivating and the story of the Hawley family who discovered the ruins...More

this is a diamond in the rough. A private museum and story behind the discovery and the excavation and removal of the steamboat and its cargo is amazing to say the least. If in the Kansas City area this is a must see. Price seems...More

An interesting look to the past, when America was developing. Also a good example of private initiative. the museum is very didactic, and staff is friendly and happy to answer my questions. For children, better 8+ age.

Great place for adults and kids old enough to appreciate some history. Displays are well done and the place is easy to navigate. Coupons are often found in the Entertainment books.

Little something there to educate kids and adults alike... very young kids maybe not so much but probably 7 and older can appreciate what they are actually experiencing... very educational as to life in Kansas City near the turn of the century...

Thanks for asking. It is true that the admission cost for seniors is $13.50. Officially, we recommend about 90 minutes to do the whole tour, but as NOELKAT9791 pointed out, many folks can spend several hours. There's a... More
