The Kansas City symphony is awesome and the programs they support make a trip to the symphony engaging on many levels . In May they featured Disney's Fantasia as it was meant to seen and heard....a huge screen to show the film and a symphony orchestra to play the score. Walt Disney is a Kansas City native and to organize... More

We have been attending Kansas City Symphony concerts since the 1960's (and my 7th grade class heard them in 1948!). Now we've got the best musical director and conductor of those 65 year--Michael Stern, son of Isaac Stern who has grown up with great musicians. And we were ushers in their former home, a renovated Masonic hall. But now they... More

The place is so uplifting and ethereal. The music was classical selections, including Beethoven played by Yevgeny Sudbin, and it was sooo beautiful. The whole experience was perfect. Seating was comfortable, staff very helpful, gift shop has affordable unique gifts, and the prices were reasonable for the concert itself. Mr. Sudbin came out into the concert hall after the performance,... More

The symphony is always awesome and now they play in the one of the best venues in the country, the Kauffman Performing Arts Center. You can even sit behind the symphony and hear perfectly. The members enjoy thier job and it shows in their performance.

The whole experience at the Kauffman Center was state of the art. Kansas City has done themselves proud. My Husband was a professional violinist for 50 years, has played in very famous orchestras and with great stars. He agreed this was first class.

Music was great. Debussy and Mozart in the first half and then the Planets. Great percussion and direction. Thanks for the memory

The KC Symphony is really a good medium size symphony orchestra. Their performance included a 120+ voice chorus; a choral work by Brahms and one by Zemlinsky, both really good pieces and well performed, The Orchestra opened with a Wagnerian overture and closed with Mendelsshon's "Scottish" Sympphony. A great program perfomed well. Also of note is the conductor of the... More

The Center has great seating, great acoustics, and is a great home for the Kansas City Symphony. We attended the opening weekend and this was to see Joyce Didanoto perform with the symphony. She blew us away but the bigger surprise was the outstanding sound that came from the symphony. It was so good we plan to return to KC... More

Beautiful building, beautiful theater. Acoustics are amazing, Maestro Stern is a joy to watch work. Came 7 hours for Joyce DiDonato and loved every minute!
