We arrived only 30 minutes before closing, but thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits we had time to see. Good information on the construction of Bagnell Dam, historic information about the Osage Indians and the area around Lake of the Ozarks.

This is a lovely lodge, high on a bluff with gorgeous lake views. It is loaded with history about the lake and building the dam. Even if you're not a history buff, stop here and check the place out!

Free to visit. Beautiful building. Interesting history of the area. Well presented exhibits show you what it was like while the dam was being built.

I don't know how we've lived here so long and did not know about this treasure. If you are in the area it's well worth a visit, very educational, scenic and interesting indeed.

It was free. However, the volunteer was so interesting and the exhibits so interesting that I bought a post card and put a small donation in the box (I think it was by the entrance?).
