Great family fun

We took our grandchildren ages 4 & 6. They loved being able to wander around through Missouri Town. We visited on their weekend in November with lots of exhibits/vendors.

I had visited the attraction with my children years ago and found it very interesting. Visited yesterday 4/9/2017 a Sunday. Only the blacksmith and a watercolor artist were there. No one at the gift shop. They lost out on several dollars worth of income as brought 30 people with us. We had came 3 weeks prior and gave them the... More

We go out there several times year! The Park's and Rec people put out a wonderful agenda of things happening out there. We have seen sheep sheering, fall festivities, square dancing, and other activites that they have out there. We love to walk the place when the weather is nice, It's worth the small price you pay to enter.

This visit could not have been better! Each building was decorated for Christmas and a person in period costume provided background and information on the decor and timeframe. Hot cider, friendship tea, ginger cookies, and sugar cookies were a yummy treat. Live animals were accessible to pet and craftsmen shared knowledge of their trades. A small entry fee helps this... Missouri Town consists of log cabins and buildings moved from different locations in Missouri to Lee's Summit to preserve history that would otherwise have been lost. We visited on a Tuesday and were virtually the only visitors there. We later found out that Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are often busy with school groups visiting the town. Other than the church... More

Realistic depiction of past times. Very educational. Interactive activities. Friendly staff and people dressed in historical outfits. Lots of fun for kids and adults as well.

I met some friends at Missouri Town. It was during one of their "special" events. If you are looking for rides, arts and crafts to purchase this probably is not the place for you. (although they do have a horse drawn ride and things you can purchase in their gift shop at the entrance) I arrived before my friends, as... More

This is a great little community-like "town" of old homes, a blacksmith, and much more that reflects the lives of our not-too-distant ancestors. It affords an up close and personal view of life in those days of 1855. I attended during an Autumn celebration where they were making apple butter and more. In my 60s I saw my first ox... More

We had not visited in a long time and decided to stop by on a Wednesday late morning. We almost had the site to ourselves which was kind of nice. A volunteer, in period dress, was caring for the sheep that were roaming at will and gave us a lot of background on the animals, buildings, etc. very nice. As... More

This jewel at Lake Jacomo is a wonderful way of immersing yourself in 1800's Missouri. On any given weekend you can wander, attend a class at a 1 room school, visit a kitchen, see a buffalo and enjoy a wonderful day outdoors. This is what Silver Dollar City was 30 years ago.
