We purchased some fantastic fish from the locals and watched while others landed a shark, to release later. The locals are always helpful and smiling.

It was relatively calm when we viewed the wharf - only small waves crashing over! Would be great to see when seas are very rough - or to view cargo being delivered.

A lovely little pier in a most picturesque setting. Fascinating to see how supplies are/were loaded and unloaded and how the ships have to navigate the treacherous reef to dock at the pier. Also the historical nature of the Fleets and Bounty settlements close by.

When the ships are unloading this pier is the main public entertainment centre. All goods and freight must come ashore by lighter with these little boats being towed by equally small tow boats negotiating the reef to reach the relatively safe waters within. Unloading a ship can be delayed for days or even weeks due to the weather, which is... More

Convict settlements and history surround you as you watch the treacherous off loading of goods which happens about once a month, from a cargo ship off shore on to small boats which then ferry the produce to shore. We were lucky to also the see the rare event of a tourist bus offloaded on to two glider boats trapped together,... More

If you are lucky, you may see a supply ship come off Kingston and then watch the pier come to life. As it is too dangerous for the supply ships to come close to the pier, sailors go out to them in 'lighters' to unload the cargo from the ship and bring it back to the pier. Two supply ships... More

We were lucky to be here when a cargo ship was being unloaded the same way as it was hundred years ago. Even buses are offloaded onto boats and lifted up onto the pier with a crane. Spectacular sight and great photo shots to be had, could watch it for hours. Cargo ships often had to sit outside reef to... More

We were hoping to see the supply boat come in but the weather was against us. Unfortunately we didn't see the fishermen as well. It was interesting to see the pier and photos of how they take boats out of the water when they can't use the boat ramp.

We were lucky enough to be there to Watch the cargo ship unload. It's a big event in the lives of locals on Norfolk Is. as this is how most of their goods come to Island. Announcement is made on local radio when ship is unloading @ the dock.
