#28 by the lake is open and has a nice location for watching turtles and birds. Peaceful and quiet. Showers were most welcome after the Cup & Saucer- warm and plenty of water. Strange that there does not appear to be more than 2 toilets and only one place for water and garbage.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had booked a campsite in their Forest Camping area. The campsites are advertised as ‘large, beautiful, private wooded sites’. On the website there wasn’t an opportunity to actually see the sites or choose a specific one. When we arrived, we were assigned a site, but it was far from private. The site itself was large enough, but there was another site above us that looked directly down at our site. There were other sites open at that time and so we asked if it would be possible to change sites to one that was more private. We were told that it wasn’t possible because all sites were booked. Because you can’t book a specific site , we asked why couldn’t another group take our site and we take one that was currently empty(since they wouldn’t be expecting to stay on a specific site). Again we were told that it wasn’t possible to
change sites because other sites were larger and they had to save them for camper trailers. We indicated politely that we weren’t happy. But there was no attempt on their part to try to accommodate our request. That was the part that was most upsetting.
Pros: The park is well set up to accommodate families with dishwashing stations. Covered area to cook and BBQ meals, as well as a covered eating area. They have flush toilets near the main office as well as 2 showers. There are several covered areas to wash face and hands. They provide dishwashing soap and scrubbers. We went to the Astrology Night and it was thoroughly enjoyable! I would definitely recommend going to that.
Cons: You have to pay extra for everything! Wood was $8.00 a bundle and it was all cedar. Any event is extra and non refundable. We had booked the Wolf Howl hike but decided that we didn’t have enough time to go on it and there was no option to get a refund. Also, 2 showers is not enough for that many people.
Would we stay here again - no.

We came here during daytime. To use the trail, we have to pay $7 + tax/person. I think this place might be more interesting for night hiking or you stay at B&B here. I did not know this place offers B&B otherwise, I would stay here. We saw a lot of RVs on the site, this place might be a good camping / RV site.
The staff is nice and the facility is incredibly clean. It has a summer kitchen which has bbq equipment and stove. However, you have to bring your own pots and utensils. The public washrooms are surprisingly super clean.
However, the trails are not that interesting. It feels like someone's backyard. Out of so many interesting trails in Manitoulin Island, I would not recommend this trail for day hiking. However, it might be more interesting for night hiking since it got a telescope along the trail to look at the sky. Also, there is not white light in the park, so hiking at night might be more interesting.
Besides hiking, this place has a park for young kids. So if you are coming with family, I do recommend here.
If you are staying on Manitoulin Island, I would recommend staying at B&B here or do a night hiking here.

This Park is a dark Sky Preserve, for Astronomical telescope viewing, extreme dark precautions are in effect, no white lights, red light only, to maintain vision for the dark, to allow for the.Best possible observation of astronomical events, not meant just for conventional camping alone, Star Parties are excellent at this location. Even if you don’t have equipment, someone will have extremely powerful telescopes that they will be more than happy to allow you to view far off Globular Clusters, Galaxies, and other sky views rarely seen by the average astronomy buff. I and my family had an extraordinary experience, and highly recommend this Park and it’s renowned Star Parties.

I have visited this park on multiple occasions and have enjoyed my stay each and every time visiting! This park possesses a multitude of unique qualities from tipi camping, to a dark night preserve! Gordon's park is classify's themselves as an eco-park; they use solar heating for their pool as well as shower system, they use a comprehensive composting toilet system as well as having a great waste/recycling/composting system. For those with interests in low impact, eco living this is a great destination! Gordon's Park is a great destination for families with kids ranging in ages; there are awesome learning opportunities as well as activities to partake in: on site mini golf, pool as well as guided group tours: astronomy walks as well as late night wolf walks which are a lot of fun - even for the adults! The park is also staffed with very knowledgeable, helpful people. Overall it's a great park to stay at if you're staying on the island!

We spent 2 nights in Camp Cabins and booked for dark sky preserve.

Pros- Staff were friendly. 2 stars were given for them

Cons-

- Paid for two bundles of fire woods which did not work. Ended up leaving them unused.
-The cabins were not cleaned and shabby, bugs and spiderweb, spiders everywhere
- No professional from astronomy community was there as they advertised, too pricey , not worthy

Advice: Need to be little transparent with the customers and pricing should be checked.
