🐎🐃This is a family run business which has been owned by the Ward family for in the area of 100 years. For local people, it would be the first place to go if you need/want something. From hardware, to clothing, food, fresh veg and meats, cold cuts, LCBO products, building materials, newspapers, and a local bulletin board listing everything going on in the area, it’s all there. I Ross and Susan are terrific at promoting the area, and their bulletin boards provide a venue where locals and visitors can intersect. PS..lottery tickets are also available!

What a great experience we had there. If you are looking for any thing at all chances it's at Wards Store.

Stumbled across this General store while trying to find the Blue Jay Creek Provincial Park.

Located on the main road in Tehkummah, Ward's General store was a pleasant surprise to find.

After opening the huge and wide, wooden main door we were met with what can only be described as witnessing a true, vintage-like general store. It had everything imaginable.

The staff were smiling and friendly.

Worth a stop if you ever find yourself driving through Tehkummah.

Enjoy.

This is a great place to visit. It is an old time general store - if they don't have it, you don't need it. Clothes, food, sporting goods, hardware - you name it they probably have it. It is also connected to the local liquor store so it should be around for a while. It is certainly worth a visit to see the old wood and glass counters and the assortment of goods on display. They also have a great T-shirt if you are interested in telling people you have visited Ward's Store in "downtown nowhere".

This store is the real deal, not a tourist trap. A real general store that carries toilet seats and canned pineapple, mitten liners with trigger fingers and local garden greens, contact cement and thread. It would be a step back in time except it's very much for real in this rural area. While we were there several locals came in to purchase items necessary for daily life. It's fun to wander the aisles and find a replacement stopper for your thermos or something else you haven't been able to find. And even more fun to watch this store in action.
