Worth the visit

It was great to see this and learn the history of the Lake of The Ozarks. Apparently there was no Lake before the Dam was built. Wow!

Such a beautiful place to visit and take a ride on the Celebration 2 boat ride, many bar's and restaurants to eat at and soon to open is a Desert and Wine bar...you must take a ride thru the Bagwell Dall.

When we first moved to Osage Beach from San Diego, we totally thought the area would be like many of the boardwalks that we've visited on the back home and on the East Coast. It is not ever close. We have visited several times and it never fails to boggle my mind how a place with so much history can... More

You will be in awe while either driving over The Dam, or while driving past it via HWY 54. I suggest a visit to the Wilmore Lodge to get it's history via it's photos and print.

Impressive site with an underground Museum. Great place to take the kids for a fun and educational experience.

Our plan was to drive over the dam, but we missed the turn so we checked out the scenic overlooks above the dam and then ended up at the base of it. There's plenty of gravel parking and it's a short walk from the farther parking area to the opened gate. Along the path, there were signs telling about the... More

You can find a couple points with a nice view of the dam but there are no tours available now. We were fortunate enough to have visited the dam quite a number of years ago while they were still giving tours and really enjoyed it. Other than a few viewing points the dam has nothing to offer.

Not something I'd make an out-of-the-way trip to go see simply a bridge that looks like it's ready for a second side of him and not that impressive.
