Wish the caretaker's office had been open so we could have found a map of all the gravesite of interest. The monuments and mausoleums were very impressive, and the setting is beautiful. We love cemeteries, and this one is worth the time.

Attraction recommended in local travel guide. Superintendent's office closed so unable to obtain maps of famous graves. Drove around property. Able to see one governor's grave as well as civil war era graves. Be aware roads are narrow and curvey.

Really enjoyed this guided tour of the cemetery. So much history here. Burial plots of Missouri Governors, Civil War Veterans, and Pony Express riders among others. Beautiful mausoleums; some with stained glass windows.

Enjoyed an afternoon of exploring this beautiful cemetery. Be sure to see the mausoleums just to your left as you enter. A good way to see a history of an area unveiled here.

Every time that I come to St Joseph, I visit this a cemetery. It is the oldest center in the city and is full of beautiful stones and marvelous crypts. It is a wonderful place to walk and reflect.

Very historical and work taking time to just wander and look around. The headstones date back before the late 1800's.

This cemetery is surprisingly beautiful. It reminds me of things we should be able to see in older cemeteries back east, not in the middle of Missouri.

This cemetery was started in 1851 and contains confederate soldiers from the Civil War, pony express riders and 20 mausoleums that were built around the turn of the century. If you like old cemeteries and the stories they tell; this is a whole set of...More
