This is a huge zoo. MUST SEE the sea lions and the ice age 4d show. Penguin and polar bear exhibits are fantastic too. Only downfall is the train system. It's a debacle. We waited in line 45 minutes. The trains come very regularly but people don't get off. So, literally a train would stop and 2 people would get... More

It took us four hours to make it through the zoo, without spending too much time in any one area. Well-balanced and presented. I couldn't believe how close we could get to the penguins, giraffes and the hippos. And how many people can say they know what a penguin smells like?

We stopped for a short visit (about two hours) so we didn't take advantage of the full zoo. We loved the up close views of the hippos, the elephant watching us and walking with the butterflies. The sculptures throughout the zoo and the detailed habitats including stamped prints in the cement walkways make the whole experience a delight. We visited... More

Great attraction at a great price. FREE. However, free means that it's gonna be crowded. Plan on waiting in line for every exhibit.

Wonderful place to visit for young and old. All the animals at the St Louis Zoo are well cared for. The food is terrific.

Having visited very good zoos, including Miami's Metro Zoo, I consider this zoo to be a great time and experience. The zoo is free to all and very worthwhile. The facilities were clean and had very good exhibits for people of all ages. They also had significant animal exhibits and educational experiences that I have not seen elsewhere.

We had a great time at the zoo which had an impressive amount of animals, nice walking paths, a fun train, and reasonably priced food and drink.

Went with our 2 year old daughter, and she loved every moment of it. Had a hard time convincing her to leave the vicinity. The zoo itself is free, but if you're visiting with children, get the combination tickets that give you unlimited access to the trains, sea lion shows, etc.
