Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

If you plan on crawling through the infinite amount of tunnels or even keeping up with your toddler, GET THE KNEE PADS. They are in gift shop for about $6.50 per pair and definitely worth it. No matter how silly you feel wearing them, you won't regret it. Your knees will certainly thank you and other adults will praise your... More

Today was my second visit to the City Museum. Words and pictures cannot adequately describe this place. It must be experienced to be understood. Wear jeans and closed toe shoes. You will be climbing, sliding, scooting and having a blast in this unique place. DO NOT miss this place if you are in St. Louis!

Came up with my 16 year old daughter to the hair show at the convention center, and decided to come 2 days early to have fun! I had been once before but she had never been. Needless to say we had a blast! One of my favorites in STL.

We heard this was a fun spot for everyone so we took a day to check it out. It was pretty easy to find and we got there about 1030. We found that parking costs range from $5-15 and you're usually directed by guys with flags in the street. Looked sketchy but up to you to follow them or go... More

The City Museum is not a museum. It's a giant playground of tunnels and slides. Warning, this place is not for the claustrophobic or over-sized family. There are tight places, small tunnels, and lots of climbing. The architecture is amazing. It is so unique words just can't describe.

Our family of four visited the City Museum in St. Louis on a Saturday evening. The “museum” is really a large playground for both children and adults and is open until midnight on Saturdays. The approximately $40 entrance fee was well worth all the climbing, slides, bridges and other activities in the museum. A must do if you visit St.... More

I read review after review of this place and looked at tons of pictures before I went with my kids in early April 2017. I thought I had a good idea of what this place was before I went. I didn't. You really can't comprehend this place until you've been there. I don't think there is anything else like it.... More

This is not your typical "museum". I really don't know how to describe it! This is the second visit for me and my family, except this time I took my 4 yo granddaughter. She had fun, but made her mom and me a bit nervous. I will definitely come back when she's older and I won't have to worry so... More

What a treasure this museum is. An architectural dream. I hope it has won some kind of award. I wished I was a little kid for all the climbing and slides and all the little hidden places to explore. They have done an amazing job with all these architectural treasures. The mosaic work on the first floor is world class.... More

This is a *must* all for kids age 6-15 years, fantastic! Totally inspired the kids to explore, invent, be active and creative. The made lifelong memories. Great also for adults who are interested in architecture and history, water, snacks, bbq and beer are available at every level. Well worth the 6 hour drive to get here.
