Description:

Soulard Market is the oldest farmers market west of the Mississippi...

Soulard Market is the oldest farmers market west of the Mississippi established in 1779 and is open Wednesday-Saturday. We have 13 local farmers, 1 organic farmer, a florist and spice shop, lots of food and a bunch of produce vendors that handle local and shipped in goods. The market also carries a variety of other general merchandise like shirts, jewelry, incense, sports memorabilia, hand made soaps, carpet, photography and hand made crafts. We are open 52 weeks a year.

Unfortunately, we visited the market Saturday afternoon and many vendor were already closed. While we didn't get to experience the market at it's fullest, it was still worth the trip!

Visited the Soulard Farmers Market while staying in the Soulard area of St Louis; went on a Friday so not real busy. The market has great looking produce but also merchants with candy, cheeses, and meats. There is also a bakery and a florist with a large variety of cut flowers. I highly recommend checking out the Soulard Spice Shop... More

We went on a very chilly day to take people on a photo trip. I wasn't sure what we would find, however we found many vendors selling their colorful fruits and vegetables. I think I was surprised about some of the reasonable prices on the produce. I've been to farmer's markets before where the prices were too expensive. Not in... More

This is one of my favorite farmers markets! Fresh produce, both local and worldwide, great street food vendors, cheese, soap, jewlery, you name it! I enjoy the street musicians who play in the area as well. Very fun place to visit and shop

We truly enjoyed the market. I plan on making another trip with a cooler to bring home some of the amazing produce and meats. We were staying overnight at a hotel and didn't have the means to keep items cool. The vendors for the most part are very friendly and eager to answer questions. If I lived close (we are... More

This is such a great place to see. It is busy but worth it, some very interesting things along with the usual farmers market find. We went on a Saturday and they had live music. It is a great atmosphere!

We found parking just across the street and off we went. This is a true farmers market with fresh produce and competitive prices. Lots of spots for a bite to eat. Especially enjoyed the tiny donuts! Chilly the day We were there but we will go back.

While the "Market" is 100 miles from home, I use to come here and get things (condiments, spices, meats, etc.) that I would not normally find in my local 'small town' markets. I stopped by, specifically to get some goat for Jamiacan Curry that I want to make, but also got flowers for my bride, fresh vegetables (including some Callaloo... More
