We really enjoyed the November 24 Bolero performance; the string section was strong and the violin performance by Karen Gomyo was remarkable. The evening's music compared favorably with the best symphonies we have seen world wide.

If you ever have a chance to see one of the Symphony's performances where they play the movie score while showing the movie... it's worth every penny... while this score didn't seem as complex as Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter... which they have...More

The Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 with Nikolai Lugansky on the piano was outstanding. His hands and fingers were a blur as he played by memory with no sheet music present. This frenetic piece of music is well worth the price of admission even if...More

We were wowed yesterday by SLSO's virtuosity in handling some challenging material beautifully. A pared down ensemble partnered with the pianist to bring Rhapsody in Blue dancing to life. The full orchestra powered into swing for the Gershwin F concerto. Great concert!

You cannot beat seeing this award winning Symphony in the historic Powell Symphony Hall. The venue is perfect for the beautiful sound you will hear. Conductor David Robertson puts on a good show 😉

SLSO is always a joy to hear. I've heard them perform probably 5-6 times so far. Although I cant afford to go to as many shows as I'd like (pricey tickets), I pay attention to their special offerings, looking for an excuse to go back.
