Just took our first tour, the Sunset Walk, with excellent guide Dan yesterday. Such amazing history; I know we only touched the tip of the iceberg! We will definitely be back and also have become "Friends" of Bellefontaine with a small donation so they can keep up the free tours and maintain this beautiful historic gem. There are all kinds... Enough of the bad jokes. Bellefontaine is like a wild life scantuary in many ways but it where many notable people are buried. Their wealth if reflected in the monuments left behind. Our daughter was married in the chapel there. Go when you aren't in mourning and enjoy the quiet where the architecture of death is combined with wealth. special... More

Don't know how I've lived in STL for so long and never heard of this place! Great walk (3.14 miles if you follow white line) and great tour (Tom was our guide). I will be back for the walk alone!!

This is one of the most interesting cemeteries in St. Louis. It has graves which are very old and beautiful gargoyles and mausoleums and there is so much history to see. I'm not sure if it's just me who find grave yards interesting but this place is so great for taking pictures of the tombstones, and I've framed several in... More

I have a "thing" for cemetery's anyway, this one is so beautiful. The landscaping is well kept, has a fountain with seating area, just a very serene place to visit.

Some of St. Louis's most prominent citizens are buried here in magnificent tombs and beneath majestic gravestones. The cemetary tour is a must for history buffs.
